GANGLION AND ANKLE CYSTS
It's a benign cystic tumor filled with gel-like fluid that develops from the joint capsule, tendon, or tendon sheath. It is the most frequent benign hand tumor. It most typically affects women between the ages of 20 and 40.Although it appears as a single cyst and mostly in the wrist and hand, it can be located in almost every joint of the hand and wrist. The ganglion may occur, in order of frequency, on the dorsal side of the wrist (dorsal ganglion), on the inner side of the wrist (volar ganglion), on the palm of the hand close to the fingers (volar retinacular ganglion), at the end joints of the fingers and on the foot.
There is no clear cause. It could happen as a result of repetitive mild trauma. There is no connection to the patient's work. It might happen quickly or gradually over time.Patients usually consult a physician because of the swelling. Swelling may decrease with rest and increase with activity. Sometimes it may disappear completely as a result of the cyst bursting. Overgrown cysts may cause pain during joint movements. These cysts are not malignant and do not spread to other areas.
