Curriculum Vitae

I was born in 1975 in Izmir. I received my primary, secondary and high school education at Agah Efendi Primary School, Izmir Private Turkish College and Izmir Science High School in Izmir. I started my medical education in 1993 and completed my medical education at Hacettepe University English Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 1999. I started my residency at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2000 and finished my residency in 2005. During my residency, I worked as an observer at Johns Hopkins University Pediatric Orthopedics and Spine Clinic for 3 months in 2003 and at the Spine Clinic at the Government Medical College of Chandigarh, India for 1 month in 2004. After my residency, I did my military service at Denizli Military Hospital.

In 2006, I received Orthopedics Board Certificate and became a member of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Education Commission (TOTEK).

After my military service, I worked as an Orthopedic Specialist at Izmir Private Ege Health Hospital for 1 year.

In 2007, I worked as a Research Fellow at CHOP (Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia) Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic within the University of Pennsylvania in the USA for 1 year with the AOSpine Fellow scholarship. During this period, I received training mainly on Pediatric Orthopedics and Spinal Deformities. After working as an Orthopedic Specialist in Kars Harakani State Hospital for about 1 year during my return to Turkey, I worked as a specialist and then as a chief assistant in Izmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital from 2009 to 2013 and as an Assistant Professor at Izmir Katip Çelebi University since 2011. During this time, I mainly focused on Orthopedic Trauma and Hand Surgery.

From 2013 to 2017, I worked as an Assistant Professor at Dokuz Eylül University and as an Associate Professor from October 2017 to September 2020.

In 2014, I was awarded the Spine Surgery Qualification Certificate.

At Dokuz Eylül University, I was mainly interested in Spine Diseases and Deformities, Pediatric Orthopedics problems, Leg Length Inequalities, Bone / Lengthening and Orthopedic Traumatology.

I am a member of Turkish Orthopedic and Traumatology Association (TOTBID) and Turkish Spine Society (TOD).

My special interests are Spine Diseases and Deformities, Pediatric Orthopedic Diseases, Deformity Correction and Bone Lengthening, Orthopedic Trauma and Prosthetic Surgery (Arthroplasty) applications.

I am married and have 2 children.

Since August 2022, I have been serving my patients in my office as an Independent Physician.
