Posture is one of the most essential aspects influencing a person's physical and mental health throughout his or her life. Human posture is influenced by a variety of things. Familial factors, anatomical problems, and habits are all important in determining posture. When we look at ourselves from the side, we see a tiny hump in our back (kyphosis) and a slight hollowing in our waist (lordosis). Changing these curvatures might result in postural problems and pain. Furthermore, "scoliosis" refers to the curvature of the spine as viewed from the front and back.
Scoliosis gives a visa to serious diseases
In advanced scoliosis, heart and lung problems can also occur due to the narrowing of the rib cage. Poor posture can be the cause of many rheumatic diseases, organ disorders and mental disorders later in life.
Those who work at a desk for long periods of time should be careful
The most common complaints include working at a desk for long periods of time, prolonged use of devices with keyboards such as computers and typewriters, doing too much manual work, children sitting at school desks that are not suitable for their height, carrying heavy backpacks from a very young age, incorrect sitting, standing and sleeping (inappropriate bed selection), being overweight, shoulder pain, neck pain, pain between the shoulder blades, arm and wrist pain as a result of posture disorders.
You may not know how to sit and stand
The posture accepted as standard all over the world is the standing posture in which the hands are swung at the sides and joined in front or behind. In the ideal standing position, the head should be erect, the ears should be exactly at the level of the shoulders when viewed from the sides without tilting forward or backward. The chest should be upright and the hollows in the waist and neck should not be more or less than normal. The abdomen should be flat and the shoulders should be straight. In the ideal sitting position, the load should be evenly distributed on both hips and the waist and back should be straight. The seat should be at a sufficient height and both feet should touch the floor equally.
Back pain should not be neglected
Posture disorders are detected by physical examination and various posture analysis methods. Posture disorders should be followed up in certain periods, patients should be taught appropriate sitting, lying and standing techniques, appropriate corsets should be planned, physical therapy and regular exercise program should be organized.
