Arthroscopy involves accessing the inside of the ankle through very small incisions. Each incision is less than 1cm long, and two incisions are normally required. We mostly utilize it to treat ankle cartilage lesions, soft tissue and bone impingement pain, free body removal from joints, and synovitis cleansing in rheumatologic disorders.
After Ankle Atroscopy Surgery
One of the most significant advantages of ankle arthroscopy is that the patient is generally not cast and can move his or her ankle freely. Most of the time, the patient is allowed to walk in the early postoperative period (2-3 days), but not until 3-6 weeks (depending on the size of the lesion) after cartilage lesions and 6 weeks following fractures.
